Sheryl Underwood is an American television host, comedian and actress most well-known for her role as host of The Talk, a popular talk show on daytime. The Talk. Born in Arkansas she was raised in Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl comes out of a very troubled background. Sheryl was fostered by her sister Frankie. Frankie had suffered from Polio. When she was growing up, Sheryl had many problems with her mom. Sheryl states that her mother once stabbed at her father for getting too close. Sheryl became a member of the military shortly after graduating from the college. But, she was interested in the field of comedy. In 1989, she became the first woman to make the top in the Miller Lite Comedy Search contest. She started her TV career as a frequent performer at the HBO Comedy Show Def Comedy Jam in 1992. She appeared in the show Oh Drama! as the host in the year 2000. She has appeared as host on The Talk since 2011. In addition she has also appeared in a variety of fictional characters on series including Bulworth Nikki and Beauty Shop.
