Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a philanthropist and author TV personality, and the owner of the independent liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece and immigrated to England in the year sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA of Economics. She was the first student non-UK to hold the office of president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. She was a conservative syndicated writer after graduation and when The Huffington Post launched a year afterwards, she was able to create an online platform for voice that gave criticisms of the political landscape. Her celebrity status helped her to get a number of prominent contributors to post their views regarding news in the field of culture and politics. Arianna was famous when she made the decision in 2003 to contest as an Independent candidate for the California Recall Election, to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside this she was also the director of the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as one of the top women in media gaining 12th spot on the listing and the following year Guardian listed her on the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and the post was made president by the group of media. It included a variety of AOL properties at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Their parents are Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. Konstantinos was a business consultant as well as a journalist. She was extremely close to her father. However, it was the relationship she had with her mother which shaped her. She was a leader at an early age. At 16 years of age she moved to United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She joined The Cambridge Union college debate society as a student in which she became the third and first female to hold the position of president. In 1972, she graduated with a Masters in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic and an anchor on a TV show. In addition, she was a part of the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from Bernard Levin.
