Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek, a Mexican American actress, born of Spanish and Lebanese parents and is Mexican. Her family was an extremely wealthy Roman Catholic family from Mexico. The young girl was influenced when she was a child to become an actress through the film "Willy Woonka and The Chocolate Factory'. After attending Mexico City's 'Universidad Iberoamericana', she believed she was prepared to work in the world of film. In the Mexican telenovela 'Teresa', she was the first to make her debut an actor. In Hollywood she was cast as Antonio Banderas's co-star in 'Desperado. Other roles followed, including "Fools rushing In" and Wild Wild West.' Her role was reprised as 'Desperado' in the movie 'Once Once Upon A Time in Mexico Then she founded her own production firm called "Ventanarosa.' Her first production was the Mexican film 'El Coronel Dos Tienes Quien Escriba that is Mexico's entry into Oscars, in the 'Best Foreign Film' category. She also served as the director of the 'Ugly Betty.' The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards nominated her for "Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series" in the performance as Sofia Reyes. Her endorsements include products including 'Avon' as well as Revlon and has her own cosmetics line haircare products and skincare products under the brand name Nuance.
