Kelly Clarkson became the personification of the American Dream when she won the inaugural series of American Idol. After her first album became massively successful, she moved to another label, allowing her to exercise more control over her music and her subsequent album became one of the albums that sold the most copies of any American Idol alum. Her accomplishments include touring extensively and recording numerous Top Ten songs, publishing two multi-Platinum album, being a mentor and co-writing most of her music. She also has many awards. She has won four American Music Awards were presented to her. She was also awarded twelve Billboard Music Awards. She also received 2 Grammy Awards and three MTV Video Music Awards. She has received 98 major award nominations and received seventy of them.
